Hood Stack is On

Just got everything dialed in today. Sounds pretty sick. Good thing my neighbors like me. I'll get some better picks soon and post them up.

PS the pipe is wrapped with header wrap, and I built a heat shield to keep hot air from getting to the intake, so it looks a bit different than these shots. I'll get some under hood shots tomorrow too. And the hood is a junkyard hood, I put the patina there myself...

Nice. Now you just need the black racing stripe on the right side of the roof.

Does the piping just stick inside the stack a few inches and the stack is fixed to the hood? It looks cool. How loud is it in the cab? We need video's.

I was curious too. How do you open the hood?

It's just my opinion, but that thing is about a foot too tall--definitely a vision obstruction. I could see most cops giving you a hard time about it. I'd like to have one on my truck too, but I'd only have it about 12" tall.

One vid:

I'll get more.

It's pretty loud in the cab when your on the throttle, but not unbearable by any means. When just cruising along it's actually no louder than the 4" I had on before, I think because it doesn't resonate in the cab as much.

The turbo whistle is awesome.

The stack, like mentioned just fits over the pipe coming off the turbo, about 5 or 6 inches of overlap.

And as far as height, I pined over how tall for a long time. Right now its 17" above the hood, and I think its maybe just a smidge too tall. I might take it down to 16". Cool thing is the stack bolts to the hood so its pretty easy to remove.

I was wondering if that was legal as well. I do know Texas law counts the turbo as a muffler. Not sure if it is that way in every state, I think the only law against it is obstruction of view,
