Hmm this is a tough one (12V fueling)

Can someone please explain this..

i swapped out my 191s for some 181s earlier today (i went and bought a set on the cheap from my local shop) and during a couple of hard runs i noticed that they fuel about the same boost wise as the 191s i had in there previously.

I cannot seem to push my turbo even with the fuel plate full forward and the starwheel cranked to max over 40 psi, and i did notice that with 181's and the 2/3 plate and 1/2 starwheel i could get 40 psi as a max as well, and finally with 191s, and full forward everything i could push just that, 40 psi as well.. Low end is less than the 191s tho..

Am i missing something here? or am i just at the maximum amount of air that my turbo can push? i cant see how u can get a 35 to push more than 40 psi, ive had mine at 42 psi once or twice but i cant get it any higher, whether on flat ground or anything else.... (I know its bad to get it above 35 due to hot air, but this makes me wonder)

What would full on laser cuts push? or is this also an injector issue, Fuel pressure is fine when im driving around 18-22 on average, but im not certain anymore on some of this...

thanks guys

Rick

As I mentioned in your other thread, the turbo is holding you back.

Plus, from some have said, they have actually lost hp with the 191s vs the 181s. I haven't, though, that I can tell. They helped alot to spool the 40, before the DDP4s went in.

Your at the max that your turbo can push. I pushed my HY to 40psi before I went to the KSB-1. Trust me, there's a big difference between a bigger turbo and a factory turbo even at the same boost level. Rick, you know it's been coming for a while but it's finally time to upgrade that turbo of yours.

At 40 psi your pretty much off the map for the stock HX35. I try to keep mine around 35psi or less. Your drive pressures are probably starting to get pretty high around 40psi.

Big Blue is right, at some point your going to have to jump to a bigger turbo.

You do need a bigger turbo no doubt, but it sounds to me like your wastegate is opening up. I have seen many guys push a hx35 to 55psi or more.

gate is blocked off....

shoved a bolt with a hose clamp on the hose that goes to the waste gate, and i have a vaccum plug on the steel return line to the wastegate..

With my stock housing I was making 40 psi with a plate, and GSK. You should have a LOT more fuel than that. I make 34 or so still with this 16cm housing.

On Edit: I never noticed any increase in boost going from my 131's to the 181's in there now; so I dont know.

I think that the point was with the drive pressure in the exhaust manifold being high enough to push the gate open, regardless of signal line connection. I have read about the springs in the stock actuator not being able to hold the wastegate closed on a 14CM...
