Help with Smarty

Just got my Smarty today and I have to say I'm confused. I've asked the question some days back about which box in my sig to use with the Smarty. The answer...... which ever one works best. OK, but looking through some old threads theres talk about using a edge ez for timing and a TST for fuel stacked with the Smarty. Now if my edge comp is currently being used for timing, doesn't that basically make it a edge ez? Second my power button (or Blue box) is strictly fueling, so all that being said can all three of these run together without problems as long as I don't use the Smarty for timing? Last before I install the Smarty do I have to uninstall the other two, and by just unhooking the edge and power button does that do the trick? I appreciate any feed back. Thanks

If you get on madselectronics.com, they cover this pretty in depth. The Smarty has modes that allow for fuel plus timing or just fuel. They clearly state that they recommend allowing the Smarty to do all the timing. They say to run boxes that do fueling only, in conjunction with Smarty and allow Smart to do the timing. This combination they say gives the greatest HP gains. If you run a box that is doing timing and you are running a Catcher program that does timing, then they are fighting eachother. The beauty of the Smarty they say is that using a program in the ECM has proven to the best way to change fuel timing.

Your question regarding turning other boxes off during upload of Smarty: I turn my Juice to the stock mode when I load Smarty programs. Does it matter? I don't think so.

So the thing is to find out which box produces the most hp gains with the Smarty, if for instance I use the Edge do I just unhook it from the map sensor?

The problem with the Comp is that it is going to be trying to change timing. I couldnt tell you if unplugging the MAP would make it quit timing or not. I don't think it would. In this case which is what I dislike about my setup, you need to use the smarty program 8 I think which adds no timing and allow the Edge to do the timing.
