i believe that the light comes on at 5 psi but i could be wrong and p1693 is a companion code. You could check the power distribution block and check things out for the lift pump power, but aftermarket lift pumps will usually use the factory lift pump wiring to trigger a relay. Which will feed direct battery voltage to the lift pump and you will likely have an inline fuse to the aftermarket pump.

P0230 is a code that is generated when the ECM detects a fault in the lift pump circuit. The ECM expects the lift pump to draw a current when running. If the pump is disconnected or is drawing too much current (shorted) this code is set.

I'm supprised that you didn't blow a fuse on your ecm. My used to blow the fuse as I used to run my pump right off the lift pump leads. I would if I was you install a relay and run 12v right to relay from the battery. Run a fuse off the battery to the relay. This help too protect the ecm and gets more voltage to your lift pump (more psi at the VP).
