If you have experience with this change over please let me know what I can expect. I have been told that my California intake is becoming a limiting factor in my quest for horse power. How is a California intake a limiting factor. VinDiesel I still dont get it.<br>Thanks<br>tim

 

Get a Scotty intake. You won't have any restriction then.

I am not refering to the air cleaner. The piece I am talking about is the piece that Banks refers to as the Twin Ram. I am not looking at a banks ($$$) I am considering one made for the other 49 states.<br>Thanks

I found it for $80, not bad. I am just not sure why I am switching it. I have also ordered a 4&quot; exsaust from Jennetty. After these two installations, what is my next step. I can not find a mechanic in San Diego to install a 3gsk for me, so I was thinking about injectors (230s) Am I on the right track for making more power, or the right track for going broke.

 

The intake entering the engine must pass thru a 7/8 dia. hole to enter the engine, with the 49 state intake you have a 3&quot; dia. intake area. You will be very happy with the results.<br>Bruce

At this time I have just over 1,000 miles on this set-up, I am still tuning and will continue untill the next dyno date. The tuning process never ends as there is always more to be done wether less smoke more HP or what ever.<br>Bruce

 

Yes I have ajusted the star wheel, but I plan on readjusting it once I change my intake and exsaust. <br>Is moving the star wheel accomplish the same thing as moving the fuel plate, or to put it another way is one a mico adjustment and the other a macro adjustment?

 

I have a 98.5 24valve from califronia does this also have a different intake than the other 49 states??<br><br>

 

Farmout,<br>As I understand it, the star wheel is a micro adjustment, the plate sliding is a macro. Getting a new plate is even better than sliding the stock plate, since it allows for more power in low rpm states.<br>AFAIK.

 

Yes the CA motors have an Exhaust Gas Recirculationmanifold where the others don't. You can replace the intake but you must block the port in the exhaust manifold where the EGR hose bolts on. Use a new gasket and cut one out.
