How Do you have your Winch Wired on your Trailer?

I'm adding a winch to my trailer.. I'm going to add batteries to the trailer to power the winch.. and just hook the accessory power of the 6 pin connector to the batteries to help keep them charged.. (also change then before time when I know I'll them.) Seen this setup on some dump trailers.. but never used them..
I don't want to add the big cables, because of the different trucks that use this trailer...
Opinions on wiring the winch this way???
Thanks,
Bryan

We welded a receiver hitch to the tounge of our trailer and made the winch to were it could be used on the truck or the trailer. For the wireing I got a set of heavy jumper cables with the quick disconect so it could be hooked to any truck.

Thats how mine is wired. Battery is mounted on the trailer and is charged off of the aux power pin in my standard round RV 7 plug from the truck. The battery is mounted right next to the winch and the winch is wired straight onto it. There is a 30amp resettable breaker between the winch battery and the trailer wiring so that if I run the winch battery runs down it doesn't try to pull power from the truck and fry the truck's trailer wiring.

Thanks guys.. Mine also is setup with a reciever style connections.. mainly so we can swap it between trailers too..
I don't know why the break idea never crossed my mind.. My main concern was blowing the fuse on the truck all the time.. I'll just put a lower amp breaker in circuit.. (lower than the fuse in the truck.. )
Thanks,
Bryan
