Unhappy Have to wait for my BHAF

Just got back from Cummins Cal Pacific, they don't carry the BHAF. I had to order it. Should be here next Monday or Tuesday. Darn.

Anyone know exactly what the BHAF is used in? I was thinking a dump truck or big rig. Anyone know its intended application other than for what we use it for?

JR:

I asked the same thing when I first saw the BHAF. Goes in the big rigs. That huge canister that you see in front of the driver's door I believe.

Pretty cool, huh!?!

The BHAF is not big and honkin' enough for a big truck. The filters in those chrome cans make a BHAF look like it's for a lawnmower. BHAF's are used on Cummins 5.9's in industrial applications like generators and forklifts. I'll give you one guess as to what the marine BHAF is used on...

Really? I was mis-informed. Thanks for the info.

I am clueless about the marine application.

That was me that misinformed, kinda.

I said the cannister on the big rigs contained "a" BHAF.
(exagerating for effect)

Then I said that the ones we use are most likely used on generators.

Hadn't even thought of the other ISB applications, such as forklifts and such.

Could also see it used in racing applications.
Thinking more offroad where there's a lot of dust that would make it past an oiled filter.

I've already had to shake the dust off mine a couple times and the prefilter is due for a washing.

Ahh. Thanks Phox!

FWIW - My BHAF is running great with no issues. But we have had a really "dry" Winter here in Central Indiana so far.

Thanks for the info guys. I hadn't thought about the ISB's in other uses besides our Ram's. Thanks again.
