Gutting AFC?

I read somewhere that if you remove the arm assembly in the afc that it can lead to rack failure or something.Whats the deal?I wanna toss it but dont know if its safe

so if you've heard that it leads to failure then why do you want to do it?

Appearantly you have total control over fuel afterwards, the afc does nothing then. Some people told me it was alright ,one guy said no.Dont know why

there are lots of people running gutted afc's yeah it gives you more fuel but if you cant use it then why whould you want it. there are ways of tuning your pump to match the air you have and it will greatly improve your hp. and drivability

If you are the only one who drives the rig than I would say go for it, it gives your right foot complete control,(the reason i gutted mine) but if anyone else will be driving it than i wouldn't recomed it, lots of fuel will be wasted

Driving with the AFC gutted is like the Smarty on 9. If you can control the smoke on #9, then you won't have much issue without the AFC.

nah. thats a 1st gen thing, the afc is actually an aneroid on the p-pump it uses suplied air to operate rack movement to supply the appropriat fuel for the amount of air being supplied.
