Best Performance Module ?

Looking for some input. I'm a newbie to the diesel world and I've been looking through the threads for a month or two here on DTR at some of the options and I am still no closer to making a choice for a performance programmer / box.

My goal is to improve mileage highway and daily driving when / if I keep my foot out of it. but yet still have some decent performance when wanted or needed. I would perfer not to tap the wire on the VP.

I have not set a HP goal but other than the mods I have listed on my sig and the ones I have listed below to do there are no plans currently to get any bigger for now.

I do tow a 33' RV , single car hauler and 24' livestock trailer from time to time.

BTW - I will have gauges, LP and RV275's installed this weekend, exhaust and intake OTW. Tranny and TC will be next, got to save up $$$.

I've sure been happy with the Edge EZ module. Piece of cake to install. Drive off with an addtional 180 ft lbs when you need it and I get 20 mpg on the open road. I guess it all depends on how much of a performance increase you want. Others put out more impressive numbers but for my purposes I've never felt I've needed more power. You've also got to figure on the additional wear and tear on the drive train when you start bombing.

If you wanna put out the $ for it, i would get the Smarty. I am very impresses with mine, as it can do so many different things... Different power settings, fuel save mode, tire size adjustment for speedometer, code reading/clearing... great stuff, my .02

When I had an Edge EZ with 275RV injectors and a HX35 turbo I made 262HP at the rear wheels and got 19.8-19.9 mpg consistently it also towed great. Sometimes I wish I had left well enough alone. Jeff
