guages in cup holder location

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody has installed guages in the crappy cupholder location of the 94 - 97 Rams. I'm looking to buy a set of guages and would not want to mount them in the A-pillar or on top of the dash. Pics would be appreciated!

Like this?

I used cheep gauges and ripped them out of the case. Then mounted them in my own custom bezel. They were close to the dash gauge look. That drink holder is totally useless unless you aim to spill your drink everywhere. It also causes the dash to crack!

Yea that looks pretty cool. How hard was it to route the wiring and hoses?

The 2 pyro wires, trans temp wire, 1/8" air line turbo tube, 1/8" air line trans pressure tube, 3 trans control wires and some power wires all fit through the clutch hole in the firewall. Plenty of room everywhere else.

If you are planning to use the gauges without removing the glass and ring you may have problems getting the right hand gauge into the drink holder as it gets shorter as you look to the right side. See pic. I had no problem after removing all that stuff and making my own bezel. Then mounting it behind the dash bezel (had to trim the dash bezel too).

I hate gauge pods. The A pillar is way too big to see around as it is. A car can hide behind that thing.

Thanks for the info! I'm planning on only getting a pyro and boost guage but I'm not sure what brand. I'm unemployed and also a student so I'm strapped for cash and dont want to fork over a few hundred just for 2 guages. I feel the same about the A-pillar pods.

Here's what I did. I chose to mount it flush with the dash just so I wouldnt have to chop up the inside of the dash. It wasn't too hard of an installation. I still need to drill and tap the manifold for the pyro but I dont have a pipe tap and dont feel like buying one. I'll just borrow one from somebody. Sorry for the crap cell phone pic.
