Got the motor out!

Joe K. (Joker12Valve) & I got the motor pulled on my black 98 Sunday.

Only took 6.5 hours with 2 guys working on it the majority of the time.

Everything went relatively smoothly, got the engine on the hoist yet and the truck is outside the shop.

Should have the pump off this week and the head off once the engine stand shows up.

I'll be sure to post pictures of the condition of the cylinder walls as some of you will remember a few were scored.
That will all be taken care of this time around.

Stay tuned!

Got the head pulled and the front accessories today.

The rear cylinder appears to have not gotten any worse, you can no longer feel the scoring with your fingernail.

Some of the other cylinders had visible scoring, but they were not deep enough to feel.

I would have snapped some pics, but I brought the camera and no memory card.

When I get out to the shop again I will take some pics!

Garrett,
You might want to find a local engine shop that can hot tank that block. It usually runs under $100. When you get it back all nice and clean then you can paint it whatever color suits your needs!

Already planned on it, Thanks Justin

I hope to keep it clean this time.. That oily mess is a combination of KDP leakage, front seal issues, power steering leakage, & transmission fluid leakage

Got some more dissasembly done, the pistons look great yet and the scoring on the #6 piston seemed to have been caused by carbon between the piston & cylinder.

The rod bearings were on their way out, some of the copper was showing. Crank doesn't look too bad, will probably be fine with a polishing.
