Going with your advice
Last mod. going on truck. I'm staying with the
factory air box. What is the best drop in replacement
filter. What I mean is good filtering with increased
airflow. I see alot of the aftermarket companies compare
their "cannon" filters against the stock filter , but has
anyone ever compared a stock "panel" filter against
an aftermarket "panel" filter ?

I have compared a K&N with the AFE, the afe seems heavier built, you will hear pros and cons for both K&N has been around for ever, AFE has a cult like following BHAF is cheaper then both of them and offers way more filter surface area. as for comparison a stock filter is sooooooo much more restrictive then any of the others that you will be happy with any of them. bhaf is gonna be louder!
Curious who gave you that advice??
Why would you stay with the stock airbox??? Doesnt matter what drop in filter you have - teh stock airbox doesnt seal very well....factory junk.
A BHAF would be perfect for your application.
