Gauges
Gauges
Tommorrow I will be putting gauges in my 12V mounted to a pillar pod. I'll be installing Di-procol EGT, 0-60 Boost, and 0-100 Fuel Pressure, I know how to do the EGT and Boost as far as what to drill and where, but I have never even seen a fuel pressure gauge been installed. I've read on here about using a needle valve and a piece of stainless steel hose straight to the gauge, but what size needle valve and what size/length of the stainless line and what kind of sealant as well? Where can I get them? I looked at the needle valves at work and the specialists told me they wouldn't work for what I was going for??? Also how did everyone wire the gauges up, when I went with a friend to Randy Hord and got his dual gauges installed however Randy wired them screwed up his turn signals, I really don't want that to happen. lol. Thanks for all the help guys!
Several people have reccomended one to help in diagnosing problems due to low fuel pressure, also I feel it's better safe than sorry. I'm also partial to tripple gauge pods if nothing else... lol. But in all seriousness I felt like it was a good idea.
Fuel Pressure gauges are important on 12v trucks too, especially at higher HP. It is not done to monitor fuel pressure in a pump saving sort of way , it is done for performance , filters get plugged , lift pumps do fail , and overflow valves also fail , a FP gauge alerts you to this immediatly.
