Low End Fuel
I have been trying to figure out why my ctd doesn't have alot of bottom end. I have checked the gov. arm and it hits on the plate almost exactly were it is supposed to. The only problem i have is when i get on it at low rpm's from about 1000 to 1400 it will not blow very much black smoke until around 1500.
Once it hits 1500 rpm, the feul (and smoke) comes on and it really goes.I can bury my 35 psi boost gauge, but it hardly builds any until 1500 rpm. My question is can timing cause this, do i have a bad lift pump? I am out of I deas on this one. Thanks for your help.

Id have it reset to about 15.5-16.0 degrees for your setup...

Adjusting the starwheel towards the front of the engine can produce WAY more bottem end fueling, I adjusted mine all the way and when I tried it out it was simply just too much down low. Crank it to where it blows smoke and good spoolup and then just start adjusting it towards the rear of the engine a few clicks at a time until you find where it feels comfortable to you.

I already have the starwhell turned towards the motor until it is almost out of sight. I dunno, maybe I need the softer star wheel sring, because mine is still kinda tight even with the star wheel cranked that much.
