The whole truck is sensitive to voltages with regards to the ecm and other electronics...I have noticed electrical issues abound with the 24v's and newer trucks, especially when tinkered on...

*Shrug* I still blame cheezy electronics in the gauge. I mean it's not a mystery that diesels have big voltage fluctuations and the gauge clearly was designed for a diesel. The first thing I thought was that it was my wiring, but I got it to go walleyed with it wired directly to the battery with the grid heater cycling.

But hey, maybe they have fixed it since I bought mine- it's been many years. For mine I'll *eventually* put a capacitor in to cushion voltage fluctuations.

Just pointing out that my Westach doesnt budge from electrical differences, but I can get the needles to move when I vacuum the interior and gauges faces.

When I first looked into the issue I ran across folks in gassers with similar problems with gauges. Their fix was a 9v power supply- lower voltage but no fluctuations. Mine doesn't do it *every* time, so I figure I don't need much to make it not happen.

I'm just calling into question quality. Clearly very few have these issues, but if *anyone* has this problem it's because of Westach saving a nickel on electronics. Such expensive gauges should NEVER have such an easily solved design problem. I'd pay an extra $50 to have a gauge with 5cent better electronics that *will* work rather than probably work.
