Fueling Plate
I am considering installing a TST #11 plate. Does this affect only full throttle operation? If I'm not at full throttle do the EGTs stay pretty much what they are now? The reason I ask is because I've had reasonable temps pulling my little trailer and never really needed full throttle even on hills. I don't want to lose that but sure could use more playing power going to work, around town etc. Thanks, John
Re:Fueling Plate
The plate you are looking at would afect most of the entire RPM range. I have a California 12valve as well. Have you moved your stock plate forward at all? If not, you probley would be happy with moving your stock plate and save some money in the process. You will want to address the boost tho. I would recommend the turbo master (turbom_master.com) for this. I belive (someone correct me if I am wrong), a full forward stock plate will be the same as around a #4 plate.
Re:Fueling Plate
A stock plate full forward is still less than a #8 and no where near a #4 plate. Why not get the #10 and then when you add the GSK you will have the right plate and not have to change plates to get the full use of the spring kit. Keep the #10 at the stock location or slightly to the rear. Be sure to adjust the governor arm, using the instruction from Piers web site. http://www.piersdiesel.com/LeverAdj.htm
