I bought my Isspro 0->30lb gauge and SS braided hose from Rod at Wildcat and I am pleased with the package. Installed with pipe dope on the npt threads and a needle shut off on the bottom of the fuel filter. To date there have been no leaks or other problems and I would use the same parts and do it the same way if I had it to do over again.

Good luck on your choices.

The needle valve serves 3 purposes. It allows you to completely shut off fuel supply to the guage (and still be able to run the truck), allows you to shut off fuel in an emargency, and is used to dampen the pulses from the fuel/injector pump (the valve helps prevent the guage needle from jumping around)...

Arrow OK,,,,,, so I'm chicken,,,,

Hey Corey,
I went with the electrical Westach gauge and mounted it in the dash where the cubby-hole used to be in my 99. I wish the 0-30 psi gauge had been available when I bought mine. So far,,,,,,, no complaints with the Westach!

Nice install Rattlinram but I have heated leather seats and the switches come factory mounted where your guage is. I have been looking into some of the suggestions and I kinda like the Rod's Pod and the isspro guages.

I installed the isspro mechanical gauge in the pillar ...ran the fuel in the cab and never a problem....very reliable setup. Rod will send you everything needed for the install.

Corey,

I like the position and distance of the Rods Pod - It makes it quick and easy to read. The Isspro gauge also has a 270 degree sweep which I really like - makes them easier and quicker to read. The combination of the placement of the Rods Pod and the larger sweep of the gauge make it easier for my aging eyes to read.

The other thing I did was install a short piece of rubber fuel line between the needle valve and the ss braided hose. When I first installed the gauges I had the ss braided hose attached directly to the schrader valve and it seemed as if engine vibration was being transmitted along the ss braided hose which was causing a buzzing noise behind the dash. When I added the needle valve I also added the rubber fuel hose and the noise went away.

Good luck on your choice and install.

Instead of the rubber fuel hose I would suggest a grease gun hose....lots of guys have used this with great success....
