If a person was to use an electric fuel gauge, it seems that the pulses can damage the sending unit. Will installing a grease gun hose before the sender help? Will adding a needle valve before the sender work as well? Or both?

 

Lots of folks use the needle valve to dampen the pulses.

 

I would do both with the grease gun's main funtion to relocate the the sender to an area isolated from engine vibration.
