Why dont we use isolators again? I forgot. My friend is installing a dipricol mech. gauge, and I wanted to tell him something about the isolator, but I cant remember the problem with them.

oh yeah, read your FP at the VP, not the FF....lol.

Bottom of the filter is fine. It will also eliminate some of the hammering that results from tapping into the shrader port. It just saves a little buzzing at times when you go into the filter housing.

From what I've read here, the isolators are prone to failing from the vibrations, and like many will say, if you use quality fittings and a needle valve to dampen pulsations to the gauge you should never have to worry about a leak with no isolator.
Also Rod from Wildcat told me not to go off the VP with a straight line to the gauge....can't remember why exactly....but I listened
Anyway, I got Permatex pipe thread sealer from Napa for all NPT connections.

What are yall using on the bottom of filter.I have a tapped banjo bolt, needle valve, reducers,& a 6' hose.It sure looks like a lot of weight on filter housing.Do I have to remove the filter housing to install.
