I think you will find about 1/8" from full forward to be best. Start saving for tranny mods. goodluck just my .002

The #6 will not work well full forward as the Gov arm will not hit the plate...........Guarantee'd, it will stop at the AFC arm, and the AFC arm will be your deciding factor on fuel, you have to pull allot of tricks out to make a plate work at full forward............sorry but thsoe are for customers.

Hey Luke!

Jim: What about a #5 full forward. Mine runs awesome, but i did adjust the governor lever arm. Will the arm hit the plate? Can it hurt anything if it doesent hit the plate? Its been running like this a while with no problems, but never have tried backing it off any to see what that did. My EGT's seem really high right now for all that i have done to the engine. 0-60mph gives me about 1450 degrees in EGT's at 35-40lbs boost. It kind of levels off there but thats higher than i want. Do you think it would run just as good if it was back some, with lower EGT's?

Can anyone tell me why so many people want to slide their plate all the way forward? I think you should bomb your truck (plate, GSK, AFC Spring, DVs, Injectors, turbo, Exhaust, Intake or other mods) and then use your plate location + star wheel for fine tuning not just power. Correct me if I'm wrong but I do think the plate location and turning the star wheel is the best way to fine tune your engine.

Thats just my .02

I agree with you,

I dont have very many mods, but the GSK is on its way, and im debating whether or not to stay with the banks plate, or a #10, Problem is i have a stock clutch, i estimate at the rears right now about 260-280 horse, im slippin my clutch, so thats not good, but all of those mods, IE, turbos, GSK's, Springs and injectors, are all controlled by the Fuel pump so if its similar to a pyramid effect, if you fine tune the top, the rest of the system will respond... Its the basic so to say, but i agree.... leave the plate for a rough adjust and the little starwheel for the fine adjustment..

jim why wouldn't the arm hit the plate after you adjust it. mines full foward and i adjusted the arm. so why wouldn't it hit. you think if i slide it back 1/8 in. it will have more power. my stock clutch seems to hold up pretty good unless i bury the pedal then it will slip during a shift.
