i average 14-16 with all the city/stop and go/ short trips, but can get right at 20 with easy take offs, no head wind, on the long trips from nc to tx ive made. with head wind, and retards on the hwy, around 17-18. im happy. got buddies with 3/4 ton gassers, and half ton gassers that get the same, or less. it just ticks them off.

Yeah but I wouldn't want to blame the problem, besides there hasn't been any good tranny bashing going on for a long time
I thought you run a set of Mach 4s before the DFs you have now? The reason i ask is I have seen many sets of injectors put out their advertised power ( and some that don't) but with less than desirable side effects?

95ram, I mix a lot of city and highway. And my highway is all 70mph up and down hills and constant slowing and speeding up and passing people (2 lane black top). Definately not the best conditions for mileage. I did make a trip to dallas and back which is around 200-250 miles but I played around to much for a good average. I just think it's my injection pump getting weak so I'm not to worried. Also doesn't help having front and rear replacement bumpers, 4.5" of lift, 35's, 3.54 gears, full sound system, tool box, etc.

Having just purchased this truck about a month ago and owning a 93 CTD since new that got 23+ mpg before this one, I'm more than interested in what this one could achieve mpg wise. I never checked the mileage until I serviced the truck, had the valves adjusted, added a new stage 2 air box, had new Toyo tires put on all the way around and even installed new shocks (not that that probably has much to do with mpg). I even started adding up to 20% biodiesel in the tank. Anyway, after all of that, I checked the mileage around town and back & forth to work on my 65 mile daily commute and this truck under NORMAL driving is getting:
20 mpg right dead on the money even
Am I happy with that?? I think so. This truck IS heavier than the 93 by about 700 lbs, has more hp and torque and even though they say the gear ratio is the same 3.54's on this truck and my old 93, this truck seems lower geared (to me). I just purchased a Diablo Power Puck to be installed after the FASS kit and Draw Straw upgrade and the Commander gauge setup, so I'm hoping for another 1-2 mpg, maybe even better than that. We'll see.....
