FASS problem

I have a filterless fass. I'm losing all fuel pressure when I shut off the truck.
I was wondering if the fass had a check valve back to the tank, I've checked for leaks and found none, no fuel anywhere, pressure is fine while running about 18 - 20lbs. As soon as I shut off its gone. When I start I have to bump the starter to turn on the fass to get some initial pressure. Hoping Diesel Dan may let me know something. Thanks Guys
Any help would be appreciated, Just replaced another vp-44

This is normal. The pump is not designed to hold pressure when shut off. If you cut power to our pump, pressure will drop. AND you shouldnt have to bump the key as the ECM pulses the pump when cranking to build some pressure. Then when RPM is noted, it runs our pump at 100% duty cycle.
