Fass

Was wondering if I need to install an in-line filter between the fuel tank and FASS? Does fuel go from tank straight to pump or thru filter then pump?

If its a FASS, you are fine. It goes through the 140um Water sep before it his the pump. If you have the HPFP, use the supplied 140um inline filter 3/8" filter.

Smile FASS & need for in tank filter

Just reading the mail, and came across Diesel-Dans comments about the FASS water seperator being a 140um filter. I have read in past posts that the stock intank filter can be a problem, and the posts related that it should be removed and replaced with an external inline filter. Is this the case when you install a FASS fuel pump system? I ask this because I am waiting for a FASS system for my '99 2500. I was planning to remove the intank filter, and replace it with an inline filter prior to the FASS system.

Is this a DO?

Or a NO-DO?

It would not be needed. The HPFP kit comes with a pre-filter and the FASS runs everything throught the WS before it gets to the pump. SO you would be fine. AND WELCOME!
