falls on face @ 2,700 RPM

The other night I was out playing around and I noticed about 2700 or so my truck just falls on its face. I had smarty on 8 and TST on 9. It shudders real bad even at W.O.T ? It wouldn't be DEfueling would it? And another thing I noticed is sometimes with TST off it feels like it shudders at W.O.T and won't even spool up. I'm thnkin this pump is ready to take a crap, but it's not throwing any codes at the moment.

Look at the easy/simple first.

Have you changed your fuel filter lately? I think during the winter fuel has more additives, if not we add more so it won't gel that cleans the crap from the tank. I have changed my fuel filter twice this winter, both times the truck wasn't running quit right before the filter change.

Just a thought...so you can stop worrying about buying a VP for a few seconds at least.

what software is in the smarty? I had power issues and someother issues, and the old smarty software was the culprit

If it's the regular TST then it starts to defuel at 2700rpm like the factory and I don't think the smarty alone can carry it on to 3200rpm. Have you checked for codes yet?
