Factory tint??

I have a 2001 Dodge that just has factory tint on the back side windows. I want to tint the back window and the front side windows a make them match. Does anyone know what the % tint is from the factory?

I have 20% on my fronts and it is very, very close to the back, maybe a tad lighter.

The # 28% was in my head but wasn't sure if they had odd #'s or not.

They are right--20% Don't get the metalized tint, though. It will last longer, but the color will not match.

Well it all depends on the tint that your local tint guy is using. I have seen a couple different tints that are supposed to be the same % and they were not even close.

But yes, 20% will match pretty dang close, they should have a couple different shades of tint to choose from to try to match it as close as possible!!!

Tha's why I just told them I wanted to match the factory when I had them do mine. Just went to one of the better tint shops, and told them I wanted it to look the same from the outside. They should know their products well enough to match it.

I've seen a couple that matched up awesome when the tint was first installed, and then after a couple months it started turning purple.........gotta love some of them guys using cheap tint!!!

Anymore most of the tint out there is designed to match the factory shade..........cuz most people don't usually go darker than what is factory and want it to match........silly people DARK IS GOOD!!!!

Coming from the land of no vehicle inspections

Do they check the front windows most places when they do inspections? I know Hunter rolled his down and pulled the fuse so they couldn't, but I rember having the fronts checked when I lived in LA. But those were done max allowed by law...
