Question EZ vs True Torque

After reading about the differences between the EZ and the Diesel Dynamics True Torque. It looks like most people reccomend the True Torque for the HO enginge due to the less aggressive timing.Everyone says the True Torque is a custom programmed
EZ. If thats so, why does the True Torque Power Module cost
$150.00 more than the EZ?

1. There is one more reseller involved. Each must make a profit. Markups get multiplied down the distribution chain.

EZ: Edge --> Distributor --> Retailer --> Purchaser

TTPM: Edge --> DD --> Distributor --> Retailer --> Purchaser

2. Sales volume on the TTPM is lower; therefore, unit costs are higher.

3. Because they (DD) can.

Do yourself a favor and skip the DD box. If all you're running is an EZ, with possibly a set of injectors in the future, the extra timing of the EZ isn't going to hurt you at all. You _may_ end up with some extra timing rattle, but thats about it.

The Edge EZ will give you a bit more timing rattle, but it's a diesel, they are supposed to rattle.

Drop some bigger squirters in there and you have a nice package.

If you plan on towing somewhere near my GCW's (see signature), I'd pay the money for the TTPM over the EZ - we're not talking "timing rattle" at these loads. "Timing HAMMER" is more like it.

For lighter towing or running unloaded, the EZ is fine.

I would only buy the DD if you can get one as cheap or cheaper than the Edge.
The DD and EZ are ALMOST the same.
The Edge has more seat of the pants feel to it.
I have used both, and owned many of both.

I am towing a 21' trailer at 6500# fully loaded once every two months , but want to be conservative with my truck. It only has 47000 miles on it right now.

I went with the Diesel Dynamics Comp instead due to the HO's already advanced timing.Heard some people state the EZ on HO's do very little.
