EZ Edge......where to go for a lil more power.

Ok, the turning point is coming..... I currently have a EZ with wastegate mod. Helped on power, didn't hurt mileage. I've been looking at another upgrade for some additional towing grunt. Is an injector change in order? or would it be better to leave them alone and go with a comp box. Opinions welcome!!

I have the Edge Drag Box and it has plenty of power. The ploblem I have is I am guage-less so I have to keep it on the lowest setting when towing. On level 1x5 I do notice more power but not enough to warrent the price of the box. Once I get guages I will feel more comfortable running at a higher level.

There a place you can go for more power-- it's called "the wire." Tap it, and HP nirvana is yours (but warranty is not, as this will void).

Injectors would be a nice addition, just be careful how big you go with the stock turbo on there.

HOHN,
You can't tape the wire with a EZ, you are thinking of the comp box.

I would go with injectors instead of another box right now. I have talked to a couple of people that said they got better milage after they put in injectors. I have thought about this myself and I think that I would go with injectors if I put any more improvements in. This just what I think though.

Some mild injectors would be a nice combo. I'd go with some rv275's, or maybe some mach 1's. Anything greater than these will certainly raise egts with the stock turbo. Your tranny is also a limiting factor. Both of these mild injectors have been known to increase milage, that is if you can keep your foot off the go-fast pedal.

RV275's with my EZ was great. For towing on a limited budget, go for the 275's (60.00-250.00) on ebay.

Well, yes. I was implying the need to get a different box that taps the wire, like a comp.

I'm partial to injectors. Right now, my only power mod is some 150hp injectors, and it's very driveable.

you could always keep the EZ and stack it with a TST PM3 for adjustable power

the ez with rv275's is an awesome combo. Makes great power, low egt and gets good mileage. you can reaqlly tell the extrqa power is there when towing.

I'm running dd2's with just an ez right now and the power increase is quite noticeable. The dd2's do raise the egt's a little but are quite managable with the little HY-9. Just don't try towing very heavy. Also, your tranny won't like it. Be prepared to shell out some dough in the near future.

Good luck Doug

J BODY,

Since you have an auto unless you plan trans upgrades all you can really do and be sort of tranny safe is add injectors, and make sure you don't go crazy on them as it will over run the turbo and the tranny. We sell lots of 275RV's for folks like you that want a little more but don't want to go crazy, they generally add between 30-50 HP on the average 24 valve, are an easy install and don't smoke heavily etc. In fact the EZ or van Aaken box and 275 RV's are the most popular 24 valve combo we do here at DPPI! The ones we sell are the NEW not remanned Bosch ones, at a terriffic price too, from what customers tell us we have them chaeper than even E bay! If you have any questions just give us a call.

Any truth to the rumor that the VA is better on the low end and the EZ is better on the high end - especially with RV275's? I'm a bit "over-aired" on the low end with a 40/35 turbo and a 14 inch exh. housing.

Thanks for the replys guys. Sounds like a good upgrade for my needs.....ok wants. Now the other 2$ question.......what does the injector upgrade due to mileage (normal driving, no hot rodding). Right now I enjoy 14 in town 18-19 at 75mph.
