You should have been one of the few who tried to relocate the IAT sensor.

I dont remember the MAP being affected by the wet soot an EB created.

The IAT gets is way worse than the MAP. I don't get to crazy about cleaning the MAP, maybe every every 4th IAT clean.

As for their location, it's become such habit that I don't even think about it. I have got it pretty much down to a science to stuff my big butt up in there and just get it done.
