South bend question
South bend question
I just recieved my South Bend clutch for my 01 ram 3500 with the nv5600. First off let me say that i have installed South Bend clutches on many truck all with great experience from the clutch and the crew over at South Bend. IM getting ready for plowing season and i needed to upgrade my factory clutch, so i went with a CB 1947-ofe. I opened the box today and notices the brand logo Luk was on the disk and pressure plate. I never noticed this before, have they always been a modified Luk clutch?
Well I have a SBC clutch, and it was replaced under warranty, on of them says luk on it and some other marks(flywheel side etc). I just don't remember which one was which, both were stock strength clutches.
The SBC currently in the truck is the one with Luk markings.
Edit, mine is the low end stock power one, i have not idea about the higher end ones, I know that stage 4 I had in my passat was modified OEM clutch if I remember right. Might call and ask Peter, he is a pretty helpful guy.

SBC had another company build center sections for them in the past and it cost them about $1M in warranty replacements. Mine was one of them. They have gone back to sourcing out better parts to put their clutch pads on and build.
