Engine life
Re:Engine life
Yeah they'll hold up pretty well.
Just depends how well you take care of your truck.
But, typically your 500000 mile engine at 450hp will last about 200-250k until it needs a rebuild.

IMO
--Justin

Re:Engine life
UNLESS you are actually USING that 450 hp a high percentage of the time, it MIGHT not really have much impact on engine lifespan. Yeah, at first blush, that sounds silly, but LOTS of us only use that extra power in extremely short bursts - like pulling heavy loads up steep grades - yeah, it stresses the engine, but in relatively short distances and periods of time - the REST of the time, the engine is still loafing like a stocker...

I'm not a racer or sled puller, and normally drive quite conservatively - but when towing in the mountains, I don't spare the engine, the Comp is on 5x5, and whatever throttle it takes to stay with, or ahead of traffic. I really don't expect to see much, if any, adverse affect on engine life... Ande there's quite a few of us using the power increases ONLY for RV or similar applications - not racing.

Now, if you DO use that extra power at every stoplite, and every weekend at the strip - all bets are OFF!
Re:Engine life
Im lookin at injectors, boxes tranny upgrades of course. all the Saftey like exaust and stuff. I know im gonna get thrashed for this but whats the o-ringed piston? whats it do exactly?
Re:Engine life
and thanks for the assurance. Mine wont be run all the time . pry very little. it will be used for a race and an 5th. Just race for the lil shittin ricers that love to get there jollys of off racing cars that they think they can beat cause they havent done nething to theirs either haha. Like my brother and his Hyundi Tibby. He put the nos and what not on it but its only a 13 sec so if i can keep up with him within a second ill be happy haha
