Edge install. PLEASE HELP!

I have two trucks. a 98 24v, and a 2000. Im taking the Juice with attitude off the 2000 and putting it on the 98.

Problem is, I cant get the moniter to come on. So, In frustration, ...I put it back on the 2000, and everything works fine.

So, I put it back on the 98, and once again the moniter will not come on. ***????

The only thing different between the two trucks, is the data link plug. On the 2000, it splits off the engine harness towards the back of the engine. On the 98 its towards the front.

Maybe Im using the wrong plug, from the engine harness? The three pin, triangular shaped plug has two wires. A green and a yellow. Is this not the right one?

But I have the data link conector plugged in, with no adapter. Its a green, and a yellow wire. Is this correct?

The box came with a short adapter harness for the data link plug(not being used). I cant find plug with the same kind of connector.

The map sensor is also plugged in. It grouned at the battery, and the hot is at the fuse box. I checked, and double checked with a test light.

Anyone with a 98 here? Tell me what colors the wires are, on your data link plug?

What else could I be doing wrong?

The 12v wire is hooked in to a fuse at the fusebox. Grounded at the battery.

I checked for 12v and ground, with a test light, at the juice harness. OK

The data link connector is plugged into the only triangular shaped plug, by the power steering box.

The map sensor is plugged into the connector on the side of the head, behind the ff housing.

The juice moniter is plugged in. With the ignition on, the moniter does not come on. What the problem????? If I install it back on the 2000, it works fine.

PLEASE HELP, SOMEONE!!!!!!

my best advice would be to call up edge...that's exactly how mine hooked up and i have a 98 24V...you nailed it on the head on the connectors...i'd just call edge and ask them...

I called them, and they say they dont know. They said to try a different harness, which I already tried (I have two modules).

Look in the classifieds... I was snooping around in there the other day, and I think someone had an adapter for sale. Forgot what model it was for, but who knows, you might get lucky and find a cheap one!!! Good luck with it...

I figured it out. My cousin came over and suggested hooking up ALL the connections on the harness, that werent connected(turbo timer, trans temp, and egt probe).

I never hooked these things up because the moniter wouldnt come on. When I plugged in the turbo timer wire, at the in cab fuse box, it came on. Works perfect.

When I talked to edge a second time today(before we figured it out),... they said with power, ground, and the monitor plugged in, it should work. This is NOT the case.

Glad you fixed it. The wire that goes into the cab is actually the power wire and is a 12v constant hot. The other wire is simply the keep alive wire for the turbo timer and hooking it to the fuse box does nothing for power to the module.

Either way I am a day late and a dollar short! If you just want to run the module for the gauge you can hook it up like I mentioned. Also you will want the data link plugged in.

The instructions say the wire that goes into the cab (to number 9 fuse), is for the turbo timer.

BUT, the harness diagram show that its the 12v.
