Edge ez or Superchips

Tow 8000 lbs dont want to cook the turbo or trans looking for some better fuel mpg.Scan tool and speedo correct are a plus and the tow safe mode sounds like its for me. Why would I want a edge over the superchip

The Edge ez has a boost fooler and I think about 20hp more. I know several people who had the superchips that now have the ez.

Terrys, I have a friend who had superchips and he switched to an EZ or a Comp. He's been out of town so I don't know which one he went with. He told me he was always getting codes when using superchips. I know he got over boost codes all the time. I use an EZ on the lowest setting when towing my 10,000 lb fither, very enjoyable. There are other options out there. Check everything this site has to offer before you make your descision. Bye the way, if you don't have guages, you need to get at least a pyrometer and a fuel pressure guage. You watch your egt's with the pyro and you won't cook the turbo or engine. No matter what you decide to install, if you have a heavy foot while towing your going to have tranny problems Have fun and do some research! I get between 15 and 16 miles a gallon when towing and the best I've gotten empty is 20 mpg.

TerryS,

The EZ costs a bit more but for the HP per dollar spent it is actually cheaper per HP! Call us if you have any questions we sell lots of both of them, something else to consider is the van Aaken, costs less and has the reputation of better low end grunt off the line. Very beneficial when towing etc.

has anyone stacked the ez with the superchips? i have a comp right now in ez mode and would like to stack with the superchips. (after i install the guages that are in the back seat) the comp in ez has more power than the ez or the superchips. or so i was told. i have it set on 1x1 right now and it feels good. i run it on 2x2 for a short while and it feels a lot better than the s.c. ever did. the no boost fooler on the s.c. really limits the power. i never got any codes with s.c. but running a boost elbow and banks big head with the s.c. actually made the truck feel worse than with the stock elbow. my votes for the ez.

just my .02

waitin on guages, mach 1.6's , and htb2, then i'll be done?

kipo, I think Superchips advances timing as does the EZ. I don't know if that is such a good idea--- I don't know how much they can take before BOOOM

EZ

2001 DCD, stock, on a dyno - 209 hp
2001 DCD with EZ on the same dyno - 239 hp
2001 DCD with EZ and 275 injectors - 279 hp
These hp reading are all at the rear wheels on the same dyno on the same morning. None of the trucks had oversize exhausts, all stock. 2 of these trucks had gauges and didn't have any problems with EGTs. If I remember correctly the hottest was 1200 deg.

I stack the drag comp and a superchips tuner and used to stack it with a van aaken, if you want a scan tool and some hp it will do, add a boost fooler and block the wastegate and it will make you happy, if you want power the van aaken is the best bang for the buck I loved mine in fact I kept it cause it works so well if my pump goes south I will reinstall it. the va had WAY more bottom then my edge as for throwing codes with superchips I never have.
