Edge EZ question

I'm curious how much life the Edge takes from the lift pump and VP 44. I know more power equals shorter life on everything but I cant afford a new VP44 right now. My truck has 64K on it and same pump and everything. FP is fine and I want the power but hate to mess with a good thing..help me decide? I know people say buy the comp but I found a place with an incredible price on the EZ and they supposedly are an Edge dealer.

Re:Edge EZ question

thanks Gary!!! I think I may go with the EZ. I notice in your sig that you are running the comp. I dont have the nerve or the $$$'s right now to chance tapping the wire to the VP44 but I think the EZ might be enough to bring the ;D ;D ;D's to my face..thanks for the reply

Re:Edge EZ question

I just finished putting the RV275's in mine and the EZ the other day. The combination is awesome. Now to see if I can pull away from the scales with no or little smoke. If not I will have to turn down the EZ a notch.

Re:Edge EZ question

I ran my comp without the pump wire for...oh...um...about 100 miles ;D When I hooked it, I only seriously sweated out the first 20 minutes then another 20 minutes or so of "I wonder if". Ever since then it's been big ;D 8)

Re:Edge EZ question

I only have an EZ and I think its great. I plan on getting some injectors some day but a I hear a clutch is in order first for that much power. I do hear your fears though. Its hard to mess with a good thing. Gauges are always a good addition.

Re:Edge EZ question

A EZ won't harm your VP44 unless your fuel pressure is low. As long as it is above 8 psi at wide open throttle with the EZ, then you are fine.

Re:Edge EZ question

this board never ceases to amaze me at the wealth of knowledge people here have --thanks all!! I think I've decided to go with the EZ and I do have guages on order (IssPro still not shipping them out)..I'll leave the EZ in the box, wait until they're in and then do the EZ and maybe a Scotty II ;D. If all that goes good then maybe injectors in the future. I've got 'Murphy' trying to move into our spare bedroom here so I have to be cool spending too many dollars until I'm sure things have settled down some. I appreciate all the sugestions.... 8)

Re:Edge EZ question

The EZ won't hurt your VP44 at all but low fuel pressure or flow will. Get yourself a fuel pressure gauge if you don't have one alreay and drive on.

Re:Edge EZ question

Dieseldude, your right and I do have a 3 guage setup on order(F.P. , boost and pyro) but who knows when I'll get them..IssPro isnt shipping them and everyone seems to be out of stock at the moment. I have a temporary guage I can check it with for now.

Re:Edge EZ question

I installed the EZ on my truck about 2 weeks before a recent trip with my 5th wheel. I was impressed with the difference without the 5th wheel camper, but with the camper that little box makes a HUGE difference. I didn't gain any mpg's while towing like some claim, but the ;D on my face is worth the money I paid for the box. You will not regret your purchase.

Re:Edge EZ question

Larry, I don't have an Edge EZ yet but did get some Isspro EV gauges about a month ago. I had the same problem you now do. Everyone was out of stock and said that Isspro wasn't shipping. :'( I called them directly and after talking to a couple of people, they hooked me up. Their factory direct pricing was a little higher than what others were advertising, but they came down on the pyro gauge enough to make a difference. <br>Good luck

Larry you have more patience than I do, from when I found the UPS box on the porch it was not more than 15 or 20 minutes before I was road testing..... ;D
