Unhappy Edge EZ

Recently installed an Edge EZ in my 2000 2500 Ram. 24V Auto trans.3.55 ratio. Install was a snap and the power increase impressive. A couple of days later I noticed shuddering in the TC when it went in to lockup. I called the manufacturer and they told me I needed to boost line pressure. HMMMM. So much for not exceeding factory powertrain capability. So I did have it boosted another 10PSI. Thats what they recommended. It seemed to solve the issue until I hitched up. My TT weighs about 7500 lbs. It started again. I ended up pulling the unit out roadside and making the rest of the trip stock. Still am as a matter of fact. Am I just out of luck or do I need to spend a couple K to upgrade converter and or tranny.........?

The trucks got 84,000 on it. Will at TC and valve body do it? MAYBE??? If not. I will wait for the stocker to go and then do it........Thanks for the input....Andy

A good TC and valve body kit will certainly cure your problems without completely breaking the bank.......no need for internal tranny mods if all you plan on running is an EZ......power is addictive, though.........

If you are capable of doing it yourself I'd do a complete rebuild. A day well spent and it's not too much money. I'd suggest calling DTT for the update kit or the master update kit. (Maybe also the other vendors for something like it)

Just my 2c

Stupid as it sounds. Beyond the valve body. the trans intimidates the poop out of me. I built mostly gas and a lot of powerstrokes in a auto and truck machine shop for almost 7 years but never spent much time with the trans. I could do the valve body and converter myself but wouldnt know the first thing about a complete rebuild....I dont work in that business anymore and dont really have access to the tools either....
