I can't give you a comparison between the two, but what I can say is, yes, you do need the monitor for custom tuning. You really don't NEED to custom tune, but it is nice to fine tune whichever tune you download just to get that little extra. I have gauges on the pillar, so I mounted the monitor on the dash right below the stereo so I can still barely control every button on the stereo. The monitor is nice to have in addition to your gauges.

I to cannot compare the two, but i have the adrenaline and the monitor, and there is just so much more you can do with the adr. stay up to date with the updates and your good to go, i also have the 3 gauges in the pillar, i put my monitor under the gauges on the dash! Awesome set up. .thanks Quad!!

I can compare... The Comp Drag I had on my 02 6spd worked EVERY time no matter what with no issues... And while Quad is working with me on the fix, my Adrenaline DOESN'T work, never has, and I have to send it back in... Oh I wish I would've just bought the trusty old comp!

i had the comp and i switch the the adr and the adr is a beast compaired to the comp, not that i dint like the comp.. it was simple reliable, fun. the adr though is so much more adjustable and tuneable. have the gauges in my truck too, but i just put the pulse right next to them. makes my interior look like a jet cockpit. lol. but the fact that you can download different tunes to the adr makes it fun. hella smokey and tons of power when you want it to be. i will say that the adr is a little more involved than the trusty old comp. as it requires updates and sometimes you have to relfash it with the tune you want. but nothing i havent been able to live with... im sure i rambled but i hope it give you a little info

Stick with your Comp and stack it with the Smarty.
I have the AD and not real happy with it. The Pulse is the only thing keeping me from selling it with all it's features.
Here's my Pulse on a stick & this mount really SUCKS!
There are no options for us guys with gauges already. They need to make a dash mount like Edge has.

The Adrenaline is much stronger... if that's important to you. Quicker acceleration and more total HP.
I stacked my Smarty (odd numbers) on the Adrenaline (custom tuned with 0 timing). Love the combo.
I believe the timing on the Smarty is a big step up from the Edge timing. Been told it's variable rate based on throttle position but can't prove it. I just know there is no timing rattle at idle, like with Edge products.
But the Comp has been around longer and is probably more reliable....if you get a good one.

I keep all my gauges also and use the Pulse monitor to read the cool stuff like Engine Load.... IAT.... Fuel Temp.... Coolant Temp.... Oil Temp.... Throttle Position %, etc.
