Edge comp untapped=EZ??

I've heard it mentioned, but is it true that an Edge Comp installed without tapping the fuel pump is the same as an EZ or essentially the same as an EZ? Any down side to doing this. I got the dealer I bought my truck from to extend the warranty to 10 yr/100k because that's what the salesman told me it was when I bought it. I know if I tapped the wire and had problems, he would not pay.

Also, how does Edge tap the wire? Scotch lock? Are there any boxes that use a regular connector?

That is correct.
If you want to tap it the easy way, get a 'blue chip pump cover'.
Or, find the wire and solder it on.
What are you planning to do with the truck? Tow or race?

cool. Explain blue chip pump cover, please. Do you have a link for it?

The truck is a daily driver and an occasional tow rig for my jeep.

I have the pump cover and it works great. How it works is you remove the stock pump cover and replace it with the blue chip pump cover. There is a little screw that you turn. The screw is sharp on the one end. As you turn the screw it punctures the plastic on the pump and taps into the pump wire. If you have to go into the dealre for any type of warranty work you remove everthing and replace the blue chip cover with the factory cover and there is no evidence of the wire being taped. That is unless they remove the pump cover, but I cant really see that happening.

Do a search on "blue chip cover", And read about it.
A friend gave one to me, so I don't know where to buy one.

I've got one on my truck as well... it's been problem free for 2 years now!
