I havent found much on this subject but Im finally gonna be hooking up my Comp soon & wanted to know if I should get the J hook for my HY turbo? since the kit came with a boost elbow that is made for the HX turbo. Ill be adding Scheid 100HP sticks soon too. thx for any input.

 

I would be exploring a new turbo, that HY35 can't handle a Comp and 100 horse sticks.

 

im not planning on boost lauches and having the comp cranked up, wire wont be taped either until the tranny is done & new turbo next year ... if funds allow

 

Yes get a j hook. I had a comp and ii 3 flows on mine in the beginning and the j hook did great. The turbo was just toasty goin all out

No, the comp has a boost fooler built in. I have Rv275 injectors, a stock auto, and an Edge EZ (basically the same as a comp without the wire tapped). Mine runs great. If you add 100hp injectors, or tap the wire, you'll need more airflow than a J-hooked HY35 can give you. Mine can get toasty when towing with what I have if I run in OD and let it lug.

 

I have a HY so i dont have the boost port on the turbo like a HX does
