EDGE comp install

I have an IP cover plate, but have not had the time to install it. Am I right in thinking I can plug in the MAP sensor plugs, the data com plug, and ground and run in level 1 and/or 2 without the IP splice?

I have not upgraded the tranny, so would it even be safe to run it on a higher level than that anyway, until I can upgrade?

Thanks,
Sam

You can do as you described above, this will make the comp act as an EZ, with just timing only. Once you get tranny upgrades or feel comfortable taping the wire with the stock trans, just install the new pump cover and hook up the gray wire and then you will be all set. When my IP crapped out on me, i ran the comp the way u described for a while untill my IP got replaced

Edge Comp

When I put my comp in I didn't have any troubles without splicing the fuel pump wire. Also you have three stages and can control the fuel supply....if you want to be pc you have 15 stages to that w/o the splice.....my 02 ran great on stage 3 but if you find someone who says what stage is the best for fuel milage let me know!!!!

Thanks for the posts guys. I plugged it in as described (ground, map, and data com) and drove around for a while. Kept it level 1 and 2 and played around with the sub menu a bit. I didn't really notice a big difference, but then I didn't step on it either. Would I have to in order to notice a change? I also didn't seem to get any smoke. Is is possible this thing is not hooked up properly?

Also, the led lights for level one and two are apparently out on my box. Are those replaceable, or am i SOL?

Thanks,
Sam

If the Pump wire isn't connected, Put it on level 5X5.
It's like an EZ on it's highest setting.
It will let the timing come in quicker.

Try unpluging the box at the harness & plugging it back in.
If the lights still don't work, you'll need to send the box back for repair.

Any danger on 5x5 without having any other mods?

Thanks.

I have one, but haven't tapped the manifold yet; so it's not functional at the moment.

I have the first light out on mine also. I just figured it was loose because every once in the while it will start working.

Thumbs up

Sometimes the LED's come on for mine and sometimes they don't...it does not hinder the performance though. I ran-run mine normally on 3x3 so's to keep the normal driving smoke down then a coupla quick button punches get me 5x5 if I want it.
