What kinda clutch upgrade are you going with? I about to get a comp and was wondering if you pierced the wire? I don't plan on doing that until I upgrade my clutch. Hopefully, my stock clutch will hold up until then.

I had planned on a Con-FE from South Bend. I didn't pierce the wire, I just used the VP-44 cover.

I do know with the system on level 5/5, my OE clutch held for a while. After a few weeks, it wouldn't hold in third gear, pulling hard.

As it is, I leave it in level 3/5 and the clutch is holding fine. I am now thinking that in about a year, a South Bend DD clutch might be a good thing for the new ride. That way, I'll never have to worry about it again.

Pierced Comp in for about 3 months with several full power 5x5 episodes. Just try to not romp on it through that hit at about 1400 rpm, and make sure it is fully engaged before applying power. It did take three 5x5 trips down the 1/4 last week and was holding a couple days after that when stock lift pump went out. Pusher and Mach2s coming in the day or two hopefully... OP One way or another I will find out soon how much power the stocker can take lol

My stock clutch barfed with just an EZ and DD2's. Some live and some don't!!! SB CON OFE takes the abuse now.

Mine has lived for 20,000 miles and the comp only knows one setting 5x5. Now for the other side of the coin, before I put the comp in my stock clutch went out at 10,000 miles. The dealership put a new one in under warranty that is when I put the comp in and gauges. I also tapped the wire and have never took it off 5x5, lucky I guess. I do have a brand new South Bend sitting on the shop counter for when it does go.
