Edge Comp
Edge Comp
Can you run an edge comp on setting number two, tapped wire with the stock tranny as long as you dont flatfoot it all the time. I found a great deal on one and want to know if running on setting two is ok with the stock tranny. It seems like an edge Ez (65hp,185ft#s) would have more power then the comp would on setting one(40hp,150ft#s) without the wire tapped.
I'm using the BlueChipDiesel cover.

You can see a brief decription under the "Specials" heading.
These install directions might let you see what we're talking about.
(the instructions are for a slightly different box, so it describes pulling the harness to made a 2nd connection that is not needed when using an Edge Comp.)

It took me about 20 minutes to install mine.

Hey Shoe,
Nice pictures. I have a question regarding the "plate". Since I don't have a box yet I haven't had a plate in hand. From the pictures it looks anodized blue. Is this correct?? maybe some other color too. Nevertheless, anodizing is an insulator and can cause some very difficult to find open circuits or lack of ground in this case. We run into this all the time on our machines at work. It is standard practice to machine a clean spot for electrical grounds on aluminum things. Boats have this problem too especially high performance ones with trick anodized parts. Way back in the race car days we nearly had a serious accident when a magneto ground wire was attached to an anodized aluminum bracket. The motor started when we thought it was grounded!!! good thing it was on jack stands.
If the plate is steel and iridited it may not be such a problem.
Just curioius...
