pump wire is easy just follow instructions. Hardest part for me was figuring out a place to mount it

Pump wire is easy only if you use the supplied connector. Mine is soldered and wrapped in heat shrink. I've heard of many problems with bad wire connections. Be careful.

Definately do not use the supplied wire tap for the pump. I made that mistake and it left me stranded out a state having to pay a Cummins dealer over $200 to put a new pump wire on and solder the connections. I even siliconed the connector thinking that woul seal it up. If I had it to do over again I would go with the Blue Chip Cover for this connection.

A trick to keep soldered connections from failing is to first clean them good with alcohol and a brush to get rid of the flux (liquid or paste). If you don't use flux, you ain't solderin' correclty in the first place! Then put a little bit of grease (doesn't matter what kind) on it and shrink tubing over it. This will squeeze a little extra grease out the ends and help keep the water out of the connection for years.

Another thing to keep in mind is to crimp or twist the copper wire conductors together before soldering. Don't just lay them next to each other and rely on the solder to hold them together and conduct all the current. Remember, solder is soft and not near as good of a conductor at the wire material. If you rely on solder to hold the wires together, there is no telling when they will come apart, but they will.

My $.02 Hope this helps somebody.

Along the lines of the pump connection, make sure you ground the box to the battery (I used the inner fender screw that ties directly to the battery ground). I chased an intermittent trouble for weeks that turned out to be that ground! Ditto on the Blue Chip cover, easy install and not intrusive to the stock wiring.

These guys all have good advice.....something I would add, though. I see you have a FP gauge - watch it closely when the Comp is cranked up!.....A marginal lift pump will really show it's weakness with a tapped Comp. I would suggest a Scotty Smart fuel kit with the addition of the Comp.

The TST Grabber is the fastest and easiest way to hook to the pump wire, plus it leaves no evidence that the wire was even touched.

My trans is stock for now that is next on the list. My lift pump pressure is kind of low I think, at idle 12 and driving under boost it drops to 10 maybe 9 at full boost of 18 psi.
