my best friend just took over a parts store and found an edge box? on the shelf
when he called the company the said it had been used and the former manager was supposed to get the money back from the purchaser but never did ( wonder why he was fired?) and to just get rid of it.
should i try and use it or could it damage my truck.
he says it " hard wires in" and has two arrow buttons and another button any ideas?

 

Sounds like an Edge Comp Box to me, check the serial numbers on the box with Edge Products to see if the correct numbers match the year model of your truck. With the Edge Comp you have to tap the wire on the injection pump. If you run with the box wide open all the time you can damage the tranny and other stuff. BEFORE you even install any power add ons you will need gauges unless you want to toast ur engine or tranny and fry the VP44 from lack of fuel pressure.

 

i leave my comp on 5X5 all the time, i never take it off it dont hurt nothing. but if you put that comp on you truck you will need a FASS pump or any after market lift pump or you will fry your VP44.......

 

auto meter gauges ordered and i got the comp box for FREE!!!!!!!!
as soon as it is all installed i'll let you all know if i like it or if i will give it to the next person

did you check to part# to be sure it fits a 98-00 ?

 

yes i did!!!!!!!!!!! we even went as far as to call the supplier for his parts of that sort and confirmed it with them.
also my autometer gauges with pod are only going to cost me $200.00 and some change for tax so this deal is lookin pretty good
