DT Track Bar Review

I installed a DT track bar on my truck tonight. I bought it used from a guy off of pavementsucks.com for a great deal. I bought it in hopes of alleviating a pop in my front end. Well, it did that and more. There's no more pop in my front end at all. The truck drives and handles so much better than the old one did with a lukes link. The DT bracket is held on by 4 bolts instead of 2 like the skyjacker bracket so it's much more secure. I'm still gonna have it welded up once I got it aligned. The great thing about the DT track bar is that you can center your axle perfectly underneath your truck. We got mine down to 2 1/2" on one side and between 2 7/16"-2 1/2" on the other side. I figure that's pretty darn center. My steering wheel is off by just a little but not enough to bother me. I'm hopefully gonna get an alignment next week so we'll see how it goes. If anyone is thinking about this I highly recommend it. It works amazingly well.

Batts are dead in the camera. Imagine a straight piece of chrome pipe attached in place of the factory track bar and you get the idea.

I've been pretty happy with my DT bar. It's very stout.

I did have a problem with the bracket coming loose. Once I took of all the nuts and reinstalled them with Loctite RED (the strong stuff), all the problems with looseness went away.

Aside from the bracket, the bar itself is VERY strong, and I hate to think the kind of abuse it would take to hurt it.

I have also have good luck with the DT.

The only downside to mine is I have to change the hiem joint every 20K.

When the "pop" comes back look for play at the hiem joint. The poly bushing at the axle has held up very well.

As for the braket coming loose... Lay a good mig bead along the edges were you can, that will keep that sucker from coming loose.

Strong is an understatement. My roommate and I were bouncing on the wrenches trying to break the nuts loose and the bar never flinched. I took it on the highway today for a 25 mile trip and it was a dream to drive. I've got to learn how to correct the truck again though. It's very touchy.

SHARPMACHINE, you spoke up a little to late. I'm giving it to my roommate. Sorry bro.

I'm glad it's working out for you well. Wish I could have been there for the installation.

I have to admit though, reading these kinds of things makes me glad I didn't put a lift on my truck.

Ehh. That's what happens when you start doing stuff outside of factory. You find the weak points. I need to let you drive my truck. You'll change your mind about the lift.
