Drag Comp compared to TST PM3
Drag Comp compared to TST PM3
So i just got a PM3 installed into the truck. How come it dont feel like it makes as much power as the drag comp does? If I stack them the power is there though but what settings should I have them on if I stack the 2 of them????
That's because the drag comp does fueling and timing. The TST does fueling only and you will need to stack it with a timing box like an Edge EZ to see similar or better results. From what I've heard the box to beat is a TST comp (upgrade) stacked with a Edge EZ. The comp tune on the TST will fuel higher than the drag comp also 3600rpm instead of the drag comps 3200rpm.
That would be the same as the TST/EZ stack. You can only use one tap on the pump (which would have to be the TST), so you would only get the EZ functionality (timing/ecm fueling) from the Drag Comp and the TST fueling (via wire tap).

You can stack the TST with pretty much any other box that doesn't tap the wire.
If you stack it with something that does tap the wire, then you're basically limiting the other box to what it can do via other connections since the TST will control the VP through the wire tap.
IIRC, the XZT+ is like an EZ, so I would expect similar performance to the TST/EZ stack. The main difference would be in timing and low-boost fueling.

I would but the street drivablity is not there from what Ive heard..... TST/Drag Comp (no tap) stacked fine for me. Didnt seem like no more power than what just the drag comp has. Thats why I started this thread. TST/Smarty was about the same as TST/Drag Comp Stack.... Going to dyno on the 29th at TNT so Ill let you know what for numbers it makes.....as long as it stays together
something else to keep in mind is the problems that a great deal of folks are having with timing studder.this seems to be worse on 01 and 02 models, and usually in colder climates.....ive had two 02 models and fought it with both of them.........thats why i run a tst comp,no extra timing,no studder.......bama
That is what I am running and I really like it. I have no clue about dyno numbers, but it is a very nice stack for a dailey driver with the TST set at PL4-5. Does not smoke much. In my case just some grey haze.
Feature for feature, if I was buying all new, I think I would just get the Adrenaline and be done with it. As it is, the TST is extremely reliable so I just can't see making the switch. I run the XZT+ mostly for a little more timing, the recent the high idle feature and Quad's very high customer involvement.
From what I can tell the XZT+ adds zero to the SOP meter all by itself. The TST fuels fairly hard and just about anytime I am running without it feels like a power vacuum. So it is hard to compare evenly / fairly. I do tow with the XZT+ only though.
