double purpose boost gauge?

I have been tring to not have 4 gauges in my truck being I want to run a exhaust brake pressure gauge, then it hit me I could use the same gauge as a boost gauge, being the exhaust brake can only come on when the pedal is a zero being the microswitch will overirde the brake. If a guy ran a one way valve in each line from the manifold and the brake the pressure would go through the valve and register pressure while closing the other one with no pressure.

My only thought is what kind of pressure will a open exhaust with a resonator make when running WOT.Being that would blow my idea out the window.

Anybody tried this or run like this, or am I on crack ??

I did an install like this on a '98. Used a two way electric valve that originally used to switch between left and right fuel tanks. These are easily available, two inlets, one outlet. The exhaust brake switch toggled the valve back and forth to a single gauge.
Your back pressure can't exceed the valve spring rating--- 60 psi gauge will do.
Need to use copper or stainless tubing for the first couple of feet off the exhaust before switching to nylon tubing.

being it is mechanical I can't ue a switch I can only try to block the pressure with one way valves, the way I am thinking is that I will have boost when on the throttle and pressure when on the brake without having to touch anything to switch between the two.

that could work alright but i have the autometer z series pyro boost and fp already I am just trying to figure out how to rig the boost guage as a dual purpose unit, it will probably cost me more I bet to do it than it would to run a brake gauge with a pod.

thanks for the link dr

two, one way valves? won't the pressure get trapped in between? leaving the gauge at the highest reading. a guy i know sells a product that's designed for that purpose. i think it's only about $20 or something. shoot me a pm and i can get you his # if you're interested.

If I'm not mistaken, Westach makes a dual boost guage.
