Derate with Edge comp box

Ever since I installed my "comp" box, I have had a de-rate situation happening that I cannot isolate. The vehicle emissions lite comes on and you lose acceleration for 3-5 seconds. Dead pedal! Then the truck just goes on like always. I took it to local ******* and they find no fault codes. What gives? Anyone else having this problem with an Edge product? I really don't want to take it off!

Give Edge a call.

I know in the past, they've sent out a new box, then you send back the bad one.

Don't have to go without it.

I'd disconnect the comp for a couple days just to make sure it is infact the problem.

If it does it with the box out of the loop, then you'll have to look elsewhere for the culprit.

(hoping it isn't your VP44 dying on you)

Recently replaced VP44 in downtown Vernal, Utah. Cummins Intermountain did the job. I slept in the mechanics bay while they did the job. The fellow who did the work was a young guy who used to BOMB dodges and was very knowledgable and understanding of my many accessories! He said that the pump could have been on its way south when I added the box, but you never know. I unplugged her for about a month and did not get any de-rates. I can't say that it truly is the box, because the truck is so erratic with this fault. It may go a month or more and not do it; and then de-rate 3x in one day.

If it didnt do it in a month then I would send the box back to Edge and have them send one out just in case.

When in doubt, unplug the box and see if it goes away. If it goes away, call edge, if not, then something else is going on. You might also try the APPS reset. Might help some.

I guess that i will test this again. I will unplug for awhile and see how it goes. Does anyone know what it's going to be like; pulling a 40' trailer without the box! I had forgotten what it's like. BigBlue and 3KrackerRacing: Have either of you used or know anyone who has had work done by Prince Brothers in Corpus Christi? I have heard of them collaborating with the Mitchells' at Enterprise Engine Performance.
