Death Wobble...OMG

So i have the thurien track bar, been on about 2 months. Hit some potholes yesterday and holy crap, just about lost it... i've never felt anything like this before, so started looking and sure enough the drivers side of the track bar is totally shot!!! Has anyone had this happen to one of these bars before, i'll be calling him in the morning to find out what might have happened? thanks for any info..

That's a first. Never heard of a thuren bar going out. Guess no matter what you put on there the front end of these trucks will chew em up and spit em out.

I run the 03 conversion on both of my 98's one has 80k the other 350k miles. That combined with duel steering stablisers on both trucks has stoped all death wobble since I put everything on. Perhaps the duel stablisers take some of the shock load off the trac bar from when you hit some off center bumps and make it last longer? either way hundreds of thousands of miles and still good.

Is your trackbar hitting on your diff. cover? I just put a Thuren trackbar on mine and it hits the cover, no matter which way I tilt the bar. I was wondering if it hits hard enough to damage the drivers end of the bar.

Same here - '03 conversion, dual stabilizers, quad KYB's up front and the reinforced steering bracket - never had the problem since in 60K miles.

Ive had mine on for awhile, also the dent on the diff cover. No problems with it except I can never seem to get the stud tight enough on the frame. Its always popping as it moves around in there under load.

Hmm....I have over 70K on my TB (lots of hard off road miles too) with NO steering stabilizer and I haven't touched it......

Haven't had even a hint of DW since I put it on.

CapnRam, how much caster are you running?

yes I also run the DSS with mine. I'd say 300k miles on the one truck with all that stuff on it and no troubles.
