dead pedal at times

dead pedal at times

ok well the time came for the new lift pump and Injection Pump so i did them this week i got the Injection Pump back on friday and put it back in and took it on a trip to ny well on the way there i keep on geting a dead pedal at time the truck would still be on but it was like the pedal was dead so i would have to take and turn the key on and off to get my pedal back and then it would be fine so any help would be good

One more thing when the truck is not being used for like a hour or so and i go to drive it, it takes a real long time to start back up

thats exactly what i had to do when my injection pump went out. you say that you already replaced both pumps?

your not going to believe this but mine did the same thing today. and both pumps are about 3 to 4 thousand miles old. i know whatcha feelin and if anybody knows whats wrong with it please tell us. im gunna start by upgrading the fuel system.

If you have a fuel pressure gauge, see if it is dipping below 5lbs. If you have good fuel pressure it could be your throttle position sensor. Your throttle is entirely electronic on a 98.5 and newer. These start to go bad and the computer dosen't know what to do with the fuel.
