Comp Or A Smarty?

Which one is better? Anyone with a comp switch to a smarty? Are you happy or do you regret it? How much is a Smarty and what exactly does it do?
Thanks guys,
Matt

Neither, a Juice. The Comp is basically outdated and is on it's way out. The Juice is the exact same box but with more features.

The Smarty gives you more low end power, but t Comp/Juice gives you more top end and in general more power.

This is how I see it, if you have an auto, get a Juice. As soon as you get going you don't drop RPM's really low anyway and the turbo stays spooled.

With a manual, get a Smarty. It's faster spool up and punchy low end works really well with having to respool the turbo 4-5 times going through the gears.

A Smarty is loosely more like an EZ or Van Aaken, though the comes on a lot faster and harder than either of those.

A Smarty isn't designed to replace a Comp. Comp taps the wire-- smarty does NOT. They are different animals.

If you want peak dyno HP, a Comp will make more power.

If you want big ***** on the bottom-- Smarty is your e-ticket.

Smarty typically sells for $650, IIRC.

Smarty is a programmer that contains multiple custom softwares for your truck's computer. It's not an "add-on" like other modules are.

The Comp will make more power because of the wire tap. The smarty doesn't tap the wire, so it can't overfuel like the Comp does.

Having had a Smarty for a while now, you couldn't GIVE me a Comp

Don't I know that! Tampa traffic is terrible. It took me TWENTY minutes to go four blocks yesterday on the way home.

Now you can see why I start in 1st gear. If I started in 2nd in these conditions, I'd by buying a lot of trunklids and bumpers.

i would say get a smarty then look for a used comp that a smarty owner is selling.i personally wouldnt get rid of my comp for a smarty, they stack so well.to me the smarty on #9 feels like my comp on 3-5.the smarty on #8 with the comp on 3-3 seems like the best all around setting for me,very responsive and not to much smoke.
