Comp question

IF I tapped the wrong wire at the pump will the truck run?The reason I ask is that I have a comp and 275 injectors and I cant get any more than 22 lbs of boost and cant get the egts over 1150 or so no matter how hard I beat on it.Thanks in advance.

if you tapped the top one, you got the right wire.

I am about 55 miles east of cincinnati right on the river. I am afraid to tap the other wire because i dont want to mess up my pump. Any body ever tap the wrong wire and realized later?

You should definately be hitting more than that. It's top wire wire closest to the head. Kind of a pain to get to. How did you go about tapping it?

I took the intake off and the tps(I guess thats what that was) then used the scotchlock that came with it. The insructions show a pic as you already know but it is kind of fuzzy.

There's your problem. The scotch locks are notorious for making a bad connection. Solder the wire on there or use a different style connector and that should solve your problem.

I have just the comp with stock injectors and I can hit 30 psi boost without trying.
I also used a BlueChip Pump Cover instead of the Mickey-Mouse scotch-lok.

On My Comp I Used The Posi -lok It Makes A Pretty Good Connection. But It Is Hard To Hind A Place That Will Just Sell One Of Them .

well the reason you are only getting 22psi is because of your wastegate. Put a J-hook or a turnbuckle on that sucker and you will be in the 30psi range no problem.................but it sounds like its not getting a good connection, because you should be seeing a lot higher egts than what you stated!!

I have the bullydog J-hook on my wastegate. So I dont think thats it I havent had a chance to mess with it but I am going to unhook the pump wire completley and see if I feel a difference in the truck if I do I know I had the right one if I dont then I had the wrong one or a bad connection.

well i pulled the wire off and I did notice a difference so I must have had the right wire, so I wonder if there is something wrong with my box? I cant figure out why Im not getting any more boost than I am. I am happy that my egt's are not high, but that also is leading me to believe that there is something wrong.I know when I first hooked it up I was getting the code P0236 which is the overboost code I believe. Ater about a mont and a half it is finally gone. Guess I just need to get in touch with Edge.
aybe even get it upgraded to the Drag.

Yeah I would for sure send it back to edge to have it looked at. Because if it was working right, you should be able to hit 1400* EGT and 30 some psi........at least that is what I get with mine!!
